Luke 17:1-6

Jesus said to his disciples, "Things that cause sin will inevitably occur, but woe to the one through whom they occur. It would be better for him if a millstone were put around his neck and he be thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin. Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. And if he wrongs you seven times in one day and returns to you seven times saying, 'I am sorry,' you should forgive him."

And the Apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith." The Lord replied, "If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it would obey you."

Dawg's thought:

For the poor in our communities, those who are poor monetarily and spiritually.

How can we cause another to sin? Let's take a look at the seven deadly sins:

Pride, Envy, Gluttony, Lust, Anger, Greed, Sloth

Luckily for us, we are all called to be virtuous:

Seven Contrary Virtues:
Humility, Kindness, Abstinence, Chastity, Patience, Liberality, Diligence

Three Theological Virtues:
Faith, Hope, Love

Four Cardinal Virtues:
Prudence, Temperance, Courage, Justice

Faith, being one of the three theological virtues, is contrary to each of the seven deadly sins by their nature. If we are called to have faith like a mustard seed, we are called to liberate ourselves from each of these sins so that we love and serve Our Lord freely, totally, faithfully and fruitfully.

I wish there was more time to look at each of these sins more in depth. If you would like to offer your reflections on each of these seven deadly sins, I have broken each sin up by everyone's last name:

A - Pride
B,L - Envy
C,M - Gluttony
K - Lust
P - Anger
R - Greed
W,S - Sloth

I would love to hear your thoughts and reflections on each of these sins. Each of the letters refer to your last name. Take care and God Bless.
