Psalm 34: 2-16

I will bless the LORD at all times; praise shall be always in my mouth.
My soul will glory in the LORD that the poor may hear and be glad.
Magnify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together.
I sought the LORD, who answered me, delivered me from all my fears.
Look to God that you may be radiant with joy and your faces may not blush for shame.
In my misfortune I called, the LORD heard and saved me from all distress.
The angel of the LORD, who encamps with them, delivers all who fear God.
Learn to savor how good the LORD is; happy are those who take refuge in him.
Fear the LORD, you holy ones; nothing is lacking to those who fear him.
The powerful grow poor and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
Come, children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
Who among you loves life, takes delight in prosperous days?
Keep your tongue from evil, your lips from speaking lies.
Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
The LORD has eyes for the just and ears for their cry.

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for the poor who face the heat of day with only the shelter of trees and the food of others.

Have you grown discontent with your life? Do you complain in the silence of your heart about all the things that you wished your life could be but isn't? Do you feel like you are giving too much of yourself, or too little?

There is a cure. Psalm 34.

Just take a look at the first three pills of the prescription:

1. I will bless the Lord at all times.
2. Magnify the Lord with me
3. Look to God that you may be radiant with joy

The beginning of the cure to your life's lows is not to wallow in sorrow. The beginning of the cure is to remember how good God, and in accepting how good God is, you should know how much God will not let you fall.

And God will not let you fall.

We must always remember the words of St. John: God is Love. If God is Love, God is obedient and faithful. We must always remember that God is good and faithful as we go through our day. This is what is means to trust in The Lord. The reason we grow discontent with our lives is because we do not trust God. We take a look at our situations and wonder why hasn't God blessed me with what I want. There are times when God must allow pain in order that His providence can grow in you. God always has a greater plan than the suffering that you go through. It's the nature of God.

Let us all bless the Lord at all times, beginning with this moment and ending in eternity with Him. Take care and God Bless.
