John 14:1-6

Jesus said to his disciples: "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me. In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also may be. Where I am going you know the way." Thomas said to him, "Master, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?" Jesus said to him, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for Dominic Perotta and for all our military who are serving our country.

Dominic has a wife and seven children he is leaving as he goes off on his deployment. I hope that today's reading will be in his heart and in the heart of his family.

I don't know what was going through his mind as he was leaving. I'm sure you could think of a million thoughts and concerns that would be going through your head if you were in the same situation. I'm sure St. Thomas could understand, for at one point, he wasn't sure if he was going to be with his Beloved, Our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Have faith in Our Lord for He longs to be with you more than you long to be with Him. How many of you, if a family member or a friend, was coming over to your house, wouldn't clean the house and make sure everything was set before they came? Christ laid down His life to clean your soul.

So let's get ready to meet Our Lord! Pack your bags and take with you all that you need (see a packing list below)! Let us leave behind all the things that will set the alarms off at the gates of heaven! I pray we'll all be ready. Take care and God Bless.

Things to Pack:

Cardinal Virtues - Prudence, Temperance, Courage, Justice
Theological Virtues - Faith, Hope, Love
Contrary (as in contrary to the seven deadly sins) Virtues - Humility, Kindness, Chastity, Patience, Liberality, Diligence
