Luke 9: 18-22

Once when Jesus was praying in solitude, and the disciples were with him, he asked them, "Who do the crowds say that I am?" They said in reply, "John the Baptist; others, Elijah; still others, 'One of the ancient prophets has arisen.'" Then he said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Peter said in reply, "The Christ of God." He rebuked them and directed them not to tell this to anyone.

He said, "The Son of Man must suffer greatly and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed and on the third day be raised."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for the things you struggle with, that you offer those struggles to the Lord, who alone is God.

There is only one God, and He alone should be our only hope.

Who do the crowds say that Jesus is? If you listen to their answers, they do not see (or are not willing to see) the divinity of God in front of them. I would like to think of myself as different, but unfortunately, there are times in my life where I have placed idols before God. I'm sure you can imagine the idols that I have fashioned, and they are all idols that cannot be satisfied. These idols will never be satisfied because we will never be satisfied with anything less than The One Who is "The Christ of God."

As I sit here, I think of the idols that I have placed before God. They are unintentional idols, but they still take away the divinity of Christ because I have not placed Christ as Lord over those aspects of my life. This leads me to a feeling of "wanting more" versus "being content." I don't know if you are struggling with that as well. If you are, all things begin with Christ, all things are centered on Christ and all things will be fulfilled through Christ. May God be with you in your struggles, and my you humbly submit your pride in order that Jesus Christ will be your God. Take care and God Bless.
