Our Lady of the Rosary
Luke 10:38-42

Jesus entered a village where a woman whose name was Martha welcomed him. She had a sister named Mary who sat beside the Lord at his feet listening to him speak. Martha, burdened with much serving, came to him and said, "Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me by myself to do the serving? Tell her to help me." The Lord said to her in reply, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things. There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for those who struggle with mental illness.

"You are anxious and worried about many things... "

How many things are running through you head right now as you read this reading? This is one of those readings that talks to us in a special place in our hearts because, as humans, our tendency is not to trust in the Lord. Our tendency is to control all aspects of our lives.

"There is need of only one thing... "

We need to be more like Mary, whose only desire is to be with the Lord. This should be our only desire. All other desires lead us away from Our Lord. If there are things that you do that take draw you away from this desire, then those things are driven by Satan. This goes for many things that may be disguised in something that appears to be good. We must always ask for the grace to do the will of God alone.

May the Lord bless you with peace this day, and may you have the wisdom to discern His will. Take care and God Bless.
