Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows |
Luke 2:33-35
Jesus' father and mother were amazed at what was said about him; and Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, "Behold, this child is destined for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be contradicted and you yourself a sword will pierce so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for the continued healing of those areas affected by Hurricane Katrina.
Today is the Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows.
"... You yourself a sword will pierce so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed."
There were many lives lost because of Hurricane Katrina. Mothers mourn their children; children mourn for their mothers.
I find it a true blessing today that today is the Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows because there is a mother who can intercede for us who have experienced sorrow as a country. She knows the pain of watching her Son die naked on a cross.
Today, on this memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows, let us ask for her intercession for those who mourn, that one day they may be comforted. Take care and God Bless.
