Romans 6: 12-18

Brothers and sisters: Sin must not reign over your mortal bodies so that you obey their desires. And do not present the parts of your bodies to sin as weapons for wickedness, but present yourselves to God as raised from the dead to life and the parts of your bodies to God as weapons for righteousness. For sin is not to have any power over you, since you are not under the law but under grace.

What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? Of course not! Do you not know that if you present yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God that, although you were once slaves of sin, you have become obedient from the heart to the pattern of teaching to which you were entrusted. Freed from sin, you have become slaves of righteousness.

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for Maggie's Place and today's meeting with the city of Tempe regarding the future of home of a new Maggie's Place.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you all. There are many of you who have been great examples to me about obedience, and your example has encouraged me along my own faith journey. I am thankful that you are living examples of today's reading, which challenges me to strive for obedience instead of slavery to sin.

I know that there are many things struggles in your life, for I know that the evil one is working overtime on each and every one of us. Instead of being discouraged, though, be encouraged that the trials you endure challenge you to a greater obedience to God, therefore increasing your capacity to love and choose God. I am so thankful that you have made that choice, for in seeing how you live your life, I know how much you love the Lord and want to strive to do His will alone.

May we all rejoice in the freedom that God has won for us, through His Son, Jesus Christ. Take care and God Bless.
