Luke 10: 13-16

Jesus said to them, "Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty deeds done in your midst had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would long ago have repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you. And as for you, Capernaum, "Will you be exalted to heaven? You will go down to the netherworld." Whoever listens to you listens to me. Whoever rejects you rejects me. And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me."

Dawg's Thought:

Today's prayer intention - for those who are preparing for marriage.

It's easy to be nice.

I know people who I have been "nice" to ... people who, through my own choice, live in a manner that "rejects" the One Who sent Jesus.

Have I "rejected" that person, then, because I wanted to be "nice" ... because I wanted "peace" ... because I wanted to be seen as someone who is "tolerant"? After all, if I am okay with those living lives that persist in rejecting God, am I in essence saying that they are not worthy of living a life that is obedient to The Father?

I have seen great conversions and heard many stories of redemption. When I think of my own life I can see a man who, without a youth minister introducing me to authentically live out God's ways, would be living a life that rejects The Father.

I guess I never realized that we can reject someone by being nice to them. Yet, in knowing that we are made for a life beyond what we can see, it makes sense, then, that if we choose to remain silent, we reject both the person whom God loves and God Himself, Who loves us and desires union with us.

I love You, Lord,
and I desire to love Your commands,
and in order to come to truly love them,
give me the desire to offer them enough
to share Your ways
to those in need of Your mercy.
Jesus, I trust in You.

Take care and God Bless.
