Luke 6:12-16
Jesus went up to the mountain to pray, and he spent the night in prayer to God.
When day came, he called his disciples to himself, and from them he chose Twelve, whom he also named Apostles: Simon, whom he named Peter, and his brother Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon who was called a Zealot, and Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for those who are still displaced because of the hurricanes, that people will continue to host them with hospitality.
Today is the Feast of Saints Simon and Jude.
I'm really good at seeking advise from others... pretty bad at seeking advise from God. Christ, fully divine and fully human, and perfect, is doesn't really like to follow my example. After all, two thousand years later we're still talking about these "Apostles" whom Christ call to himself.
Before He called the Apostles to Him, He spend time in solitude and prayed. In our own lives, by default to how free will works, we have so many decisions we have to make ourselves.
Lord, help me to think of You in every decision I make. May I stay in communion with You so that my imperfect heart can follow the calling of Your perfect charity. Lord, help me to choose Your charity over all else so that I may be an image of your perfect love. I pray this in Your most holy name. Amen.
Take care and God Bless.
