Luke 19:45-48
Jesus entered the temple area and proceeded to drive out those who were selling things, saying to them, "It is written, My house shall be a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves." And every day he was teaching in the temple area. The chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people, meanwhile, were seeking to put him to death, but they could find no way to accomplish their purpose because all the people were hanging on his words.
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for those who suffer from cancer.

1865 Sin creates a proclivity to sin; it engenders vice by repetition of the same acts. This results in perverse inclinations which cloud conscience and corrupt the concrete judgment of good and evil. Thus sin tends to reproduce itself and reinforce itself, but it cannot destroy the moral sense at its root.

A few years ago, I wanted to play the guitar. And so, I played... and played... and played... and now, although I'm not all that great of a guitar player, at least I can play a tune.
Sometimes, though, we practice things we should not be good at. We entertain our vices instead of exercising our virtues. In today's reading, the chief priest had no intent of "being good at sin," but they practiced it through their pride. They got so good that they killed Our Lord on a cross.
It is good to be aware of sin, and to know the virtues associated with those sins. We must keep a clear conscience through the practice of virtue and a prayer life that relies totally on God, who judgment is never clouded and whose ways are always truth. Take care and God Bless.
