Exodus 3: 11-12
But Moses said to God, "Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and lead the children of Israel out of Egypt?" He answered, "I will be with you; and this shall be your proof that it is I who have sent you: when you bring my people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this very mountain."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for elderly, that they are treated with dignity.
Who am I?
Moses recognizes that what God is asking of him, he cannot do alone. We can see Moses' response in two different lights: a response from humility and a response from fear.
God will ask you to do many things in your lifetime, but know this: you cannot do anything alone. Otherwise, we wouldn't call God "God." God would have made a world with only you in it, thus making everything that we were created for useless. We are not alone, and we must continue to rely on God and on those who God gives to us.
Moses' response, although a response from humility, is also a response of fear. Once again, if we are to call God "God," then we must trust that He is with us. God's response to Moses is the response God gives to us each day, "I will be with you." God does not call us to fail, but rather to faith.
What is your response to God this day? In all things, do not be afraid for God is with you always. Take care and God Bless.
