John 14: 1-6

Jesus said to his disciples: "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me. In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also may be. Where I am going you know the way." Thomas said to him, "Master, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?" Jesus said to him, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Dawg's thought:

I AM the Way.

St. Thomas the Apostle makes a very profound statement to Jesus: how can we know the way? We ask this question daily within our hearts in our every desires. How can you know The Way?

In Jesus' very profound statement, He not only uses the name God gives us when He spoke to Moses, but He tells us all that He is all we need. We seek The Way in our every action, and we will one day accept within our hearts that the only thing that we need is Christ. One day we will see all things as leading to Christ. One day we will see all suffering pointing the way to Christ, who is The Way.

I AM the Truth.

When we look at the original lie, "God doesn't love you," we see the fullness of the Truth: "God loves you." Jesus is the answer to all of the lies, the doubts and the fears in our hearts. If all lies spring forth from the original lie, then all Truth comes from Christ.

I know that it has been said many times, but we can never hear this enough: God loves you. All the Truth that we need comes from this statement. It is in accepting this that we are capable of loving. We must accept this Truth daily.

I AM the Light.

This statement points us all to the reality that we all live in darkness. We often equate darkness in our times of suffering, yet our whole lives are filled with dark moments. We fear things of the light because we fear pain and we fear suffering. It is during these times where we truly see the light because we see the ugliness of our sinfulness. We suffer because of our sinfulness.

Christ came to be a Light on our sinfulness. Christ came to show us how far we have fallen through the original lie. Christ came to show us how ugly we can be to God when we set pride as our idol over God. We all need to see this side of ourselves because it is the dark side that we hide. This is the dark side Christ came into the world for. Christ shouts to us all: I AM THE LIGHT! Christ calls us to Himself and we can choose to accept the invitation of following The Way or we can decline the invitation and continue in our darkness.

Christ has prepared a place for you. Will you accept His invitation. Take care and God Bless.
