Luke 21:12-19
Jesus said to the crowd: "They will seize and persecute you, they will hand you over to the synagogues and to prisons, and they will have you led before kings and governors because of my name. It will lead to your giving testimony. Remember, you are not to prepare your defense beforehand, for I myself shall give you a wisdom in speaking that all your adversaries will be powerless to resist or refute. You will even be handed over by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends, and they will put some of you to death. You will be hated by all because of my name, but not a hair on your head will be destroyed. By your perseverance you will secure your lives."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for the souls of the homeless who have passed away this year.

1869 Thus sin makes men accomplices of one another and causes concupiscence, violence, and injustice to reign among them. Sins give rise to social situations and institutions that are contrary to the divine goodness. "Structures of sin" are the expression and effect of personal sins. They lead their victims to do evil in their turn. In an analogous sense, they constitute a "social sin."
The temptation is there. There is a great temptation to deny Christ through sin.
Christ offers us comfort to our fears. Christ offers hope for our failings. We do not need to be contrary from divine goodness. We do not need to fear the persecution of others.
I know that it is hard to live a life in Christ, but have hope. You efforts are not worthless, and you are not worthless. You are a child of God, and you need not fear for your lives. Take care and God Bless.
