Wednesday in the Second Week in Advent |
Matthew 11:28-30
Jesus said to the crowds: "Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for two churches I know of who will be losing their pastor / temporary pastor in January. May God's abundance provide them with holy pastors to lead them.
In Christ's call to holiness for each of us, today's reading reminds me of a weakness I struggle with: being effective. There is a sense of "need" in working, whether is to be accepted, to be recognized, or to be affirmed for the work that you're doing.
What I don't do enough of is "to be." I am terrible at being "affective" versus "effective". Christ reminds us today that it's okay to just come to Him and be affected by Him. Let Him take the burden of our own weakness and let Him be Our Lord and Savior. Take care and God Bless.
