John 6:37-40
Jesus said to the crowds: "Everything that the Father gives me will come to me, and I will not reject anyone who comes to me, because I came down from heaven not to do my own will but the will of the one who sent me. And this is the will of the one who sent me, that I should not lose anything of what he gave me, but that I should raise it on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him on the last day."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for the souls in purgatory.
A friend of mine sent me an email this past week saying, "pray that there will be someone there to pray for you when you pass from this life."
When I die, I hope to know today's reading. I hope to know that I can trust my life with Jesus.
In that dark moment of death, I hope that I would have had the practice here on earth, surrendering my life to Jesus. It's hard enough to do day to day, but at least we know that He'll be there at the day of our judgement. It's hard enough to do hour by hour, but at least we have the hope that He desires to be with us even past the hour of our death.
Today in The Church is "The Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed (All Souls)." As we struggle with our own lives today, take some time today to offer up some of the sufferings of this day for the souls of those who have passed from this life. Pray for them, and pray that there will be someone there to pray for you. Take care and God Bless.
