1 Corinthians 2:10b-16

Brothers and sisters: The Spirit scrutinizes everything, even the depths of God. Among men, who knows what pertains to the man except his spirit that is within? Similarly, no one knows what pertains to God except the Spirit of God. We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand the things freely given us by God. And we speak about them not with words taught by human wisdom, but with words taught by the Spirit, describing spiritual realities in spiritual terms.

Now the natural man does not accept what pertains to the Spirit of God, for to him it is foolishness, and he cannot understand it, because it is judged spiritually. The one who is spiritual, however, can judge everything but is not subject to judgment by anyone.

For "who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to counsel him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for a God's grace and wisdom for voters this upcoming election.

"Who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to counsel him?"

It's amazing to think that the New Testament is the fulfillment of the Old Testament. The statement above reminds me of Job, and how God asks Him about knowing the ways of God. In reality, on our own, none of us knows the ways of God.

"But we have the mind of Christ."

What's even more amazing is knowing that Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of all things. Our Lord and Our God, Jesus Christ, brings all things to fulfillment, including our own broken and battered hearts. Through The Holy Spirit, we can come to know the ways of God so that we may become imitators of Christ.

It is only through God that we can know God, and that in itself will "scrutinize" each of us because of our limited vision and understanding. Yet, it is in trusting in God through the unknowing that we can continue to grow in obedience to Him. Let us take joy in this scrutiny as The Holy Spirit makes us "New" in Christ. Take care and God Bless.
