Mark 10:28-31

Peter began to say to Jesus,"We have given up everything and followed you." Jesus said, "Amen, I say to you, there is no one who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for my sake and for the sake of the Gospel who will not receive a hundred times more now in this present age: houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and eternal life in the age to come. But many that are first will be last, and the last will be first."

Today's prayer intention is for the community in the following link:

I apologize for missing Friday and Monday. I was out of town and I got back yesterday evening.

I was in Albuquerque visiting a friend and one night we stayed up to 2:00 am playing a computer game called "Robin Hood". The goal of the game is to take over England. After playing the game for a while, a friend of mine, who had the game for a while, remarked how he would just build up fortresses and stock-pile soldiers versus going out and gaining more land.

We can apply the same fear to how much we give over to Christ, with Christ as the archetype we model ourselves after.

What fears are holding you back from giving everything up to follow Christ? If our goal is eternal life, will we keep on letting Christ be such a small part of our lives that our other vices are taking over the rest us?

He never passed the game. The more we hold onto things in our own life, the more at risk we put our lives in not passing the game. Take care and God Bless.
