Mark 8: 27-33

Jesus and his disciples set out for the villages of Caesarea Philippi. Along the way he asked his disciples, "Who do people say that I am?" They said in reply, "John the Baptist, others Elijah, still others one of the prophets." And he asked them, "But who do you say that I am?" Peter said to him in reply, "You are the Christ." Then he warned them not to tell anyone about him.

He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer greatly and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and rise after three days. He spoke this openly. Then Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. At this he turned around and, looking at his disciples, rebuked Peter and said, "Get behind me, Satan. You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do."

Dawg's Thought:

Today's prayer intention - for those you know who are in need of healing.

I have been experiencing a lot of technical difficulties recently between the website and the application that sends these reflections out. I sincerely apologize.

There is an yearly event that I have participated in a for the past few years. The family of a good friend of mine invites people down to their home and they have what they call an "adventure race." There are normally teams of roughly around five people per team. You find out what team you're on the morning of the event, and there's normally a captain who is assigned.

A few years ago, I was on a team that came in last place. It wasn't because the team lacked for people who could win the event (the family who organizes the event thought that our team would be one of the favorites to win). Rather, being a part of the team, it was because there was one leader and another person who did not approve of the leader and thus caused division on the team.

Both the leader and the other person wanted the team to win, but it became harder and harder to find a way to win because we were not working together as a unit. There was a lack of humility and obedience.

There may be a lot of opinions who Who Christ is, but in the end, they're opinions. We can form our own image of God, or we can approach God with humility. We can tell God what He should do, or we can learn obedience. We are free to think and do a lot of things, but we know this is true: Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.

Let us work together in union with the Living God, Jesus Christ, so that we may all share in His triumph! Take care and God Bless.
